Welcome to the official web site of the California Educational Theatre Association. We are proud to announce our new unified organization.

Since 1945, the California Educational Theatre Association has been a leader in supporting and representing theatre educators. Our organization first began in the southern California and gradually extended its reach across the state. As we mark the beginning or our 65th Anniversary year, we also mark the completion of the dream of a truly unified statewide organization, as our northern, southern and state organizations merge into one voice. With our history firmly in place, we're proud to look to the future.

In celebration, CETA has reorganized itself to encourage even more participation and interaction among its membership. Our exemplary programming--like our southern and northern high school festivals, California Youth in Theatre Day and our annual conference--continue as always, along with many exciting new programs, such as our committee for mentoring and supporting new teachers.

We encourage you to learn how you can be more involved. Our website will be undergoing some changes in the next few weeks, to help keep you informed and involved. We invite you to become our “fan” on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (twitter.com/CATheatre). We also encourage you to join our new Theatre Educators Forum, an online gathering place for theatre education in California which will debut in the next few weeks.
